Wedding Photographers | 2017 | A Look Back

Wedding Photographers

The title says it all.  Wedding Photographers.  Those words come with a lot of weight and responsibility.  But they likewise come with beautiful emotion, labour, some stress, and tons of adventure as we share in one of life’s most epic events.

Weddings remind us of the book of Ecclesiastes.  It says there is a season or time for everything in life.  A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what has been planted, a time to kill, and a time to heal, a time to break down, and a time to build up, a time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance, a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace, and a time to restrain from embracing, a time to seek, and a time to lose, a time to keep, and a time to cast away, a time to tear, and a time to sew, a time to keep silence, and a time to speak, a time to love, and a time to hate a time for war, and a time for peace.

How we see a wedding day

We see a lot of these events come to life right before our eyes on a wedding day.  We see the birth of a new life together and the death of being alone. We see the planting of dreams.  We see the removal of the old single way of life as an adventurous new way is ushered in. We see the beginning of a covenant between two people who will learn how to become less selfish and compromise more as they strive to love one another.  We see two people getting built up and encouraged for the journey ahead.  We see the mourning of loved ones who have passed on and couldn’t make the big day.  We see the joy of celebration as people dance, laugh, and party like it’s 1999.  We see stones taken up on occasion, but more often than not we see them being cast down in light of something so much grander than trivial disagreements.  We see embracing to the max as a hug-fest reigns throughout the day.  We see a heart that seeks another until it stands before the altar and makes promises meant for a lifetime.  We feel the awe of silence in the big moments like the kiss and first dance.  We hear speeches filled with words that show how two respective people have impacted, influenced, and brought joy to so many lives around them.  We see love at its finest and hate shut out for the day.  And finally… we see the peace of watching two people rest joyfully in finding the one whom their soul loves.  Sure we see a lot more than this… we see a lot of funny, crazy, and downright fascinating people and places too.  But. hopefully, this gives you some insight into why we love what we do.

Hope you enjoy a few of our favourite frames from the year.

It is a privilege to so intimately experience someone’s wedding with them.  It is like having an all-access backstage pass to something awesome.  We can’t thank our clients enough for trusting us and allowing us to be your wedding photographers.  We pray that your marriages will be filled with kindness, selflessness, forgiveness, grace, patience, communication, trust, compromise, and above all love.

And in the words of Rob Base and D.J. EZ Rock… “it takes two to make a thing go right!“.

You are loved!
